Reza Baita

I build AI applications for commercial operations — pricing, revenue optimization, and the decisions businesses make under uncertainty. Twill DB is a personal experiment in what foundational software could be, rebuilt for the world we are now entering.

About

A short brief

I started in product design and spent roughly a decade in hospitality revenue management — working across pricing, forecasting, distribution, and commercial strategy. Curiosity has been the constant: I am less interested in mastering a single field than in connecting ideas across domains and understanding how good decisions get made when the answer is not obvious. These days that curiosity points at AI and at the software foundations everything else is built on.

Why this project exists

A quest, not a product

Twill DB is part of a larger question I keep returning to: if all of our technology infrastructure were built from scratch today, what would it look like? So much of what we run on was shaped by the constraints and assumptions of an earlier era.

As AI agentic systems mature, software can be made better, faster, and cheaper than those old assumptions allow — and the people building it can aim higher with less. Twill DB is one experiment in that direction: taking a foundational piece, the database, and reimagining it for that world. The destination I care about is simple — technology that genuinely serves people and improves the quality of human life.

It is still very much a quest. Follow along, or reach out, if it resonates.
